Wedding cake tales: part I

Last summer my sister got married and she wanted me to make her cakes. Yes. CakeS. She had been browsing magazines & found that she liked the idea of a dessert table with many smaller offerings, rather than one huge cake.

So the browsing upon my cookbooks and the Internet began for ideas on how to fill this table with little delectable goodies that would make every guests taste buds happy.

We settled on the following:
A black forest cake to be the "center piece" that would have a little topping on it.
Lemon pound cake - something light & refreshing for hot summer days.
A French Chocolate Silk cake - because you have to have chocolate.
An Apple Anise Yogurt cake - for something a little different.

In addition my mom made a Raspberry cream cake & she ordered little cake balls from a local bakery.

It was delish.

I will post recipes and pictures later, however I have to get on with wedding cakes, part 2 ...
