KCBW lost :(

Well, things did not go as planned and I was unable to finish participating & posting for KCBW. But I'm gonna look at each of the day's challenges and see if I can still give you my input:

4KCBWDAY3 - Infographic

if I were to chart out how my time is allocated into work/chores/recreation and hobby I think it would look something like this:

not sure how realistic this is and I'm sure DH see it different :)

4KCBWDAY4 - Color review

I was really looking forward to this one. Because I recently sorted/organized my stash and was surprised at what I found.  I always thought myself a green/red loving girl. But my stash contains a very equal color display. If you'd've asked me if I would buy yellow yarn, I'd say I HATE YELLOW. But none the less, I have a beautiful skein that is a yellow variegation. I keep thinking I hate the color, but ... actually I don't ...

and then look at those neutral colors. Again something I'd've never thought I'd buy ...
... so many possibilities ...

4KCBWDAY5 - Something a little different

... right now I have no ideas as to how to answer/post on this one ...

4KCBWDAY6 - a tool to covet

I am not sure if there's any specific tool that I am absolutely obsessed with. Yes, I love my little metal bunny scissors and my Chibi darning set with 3 different size needles.
I think the thing that I mostly love is my knitting location. 95% of my knitting is done here:

It is a big orange swively chair in a window that overlooks the front part of my garden. I sit here in the mornings, watching the light change from dark to the first glowing morning sun rays. I sit here in the afternoon, watching the shadows of the trees moving in the wind play across my lap. I watch the birds and the bees and the squirrels. Everything is green. I can catch a fresh breeze. In the evening the sun sets to the west and I am astounded at the colors of the sky. This is my little tranquil spot.

4KCBWDAY7 - looking forward

I have been trying to work only from stash this year and try numerous new skills/projects. I hope to have reduced my stash by at least 1/2, have made some stranded projects. Something with beads. A challenge.
Of course there will be more mountains to explore and I am determined to bring along some sock knitting and try my hand at these again.

 ... we will see ...

4KCBWDAY2 - a day late due to migraine

oh what a bother. I sat down last night to work on my next blog post only to be thwarted. First my sight gave out and that was my indicator - MIGRAINE!!!  =

so I tucked myself into bed, closed my eyes and watched the flimmering ring in my vision expanding to the outmost reaches and then disappear, replaced by a pounding headache.  Whilst laying there, I had a chance to thing about my house animal. Second guessing my decision. Maybe I am more a monkey after all - I always try new things, explore my outlook on things. But I went with the bee, so the bee it is.

The busy bee. I love honey. I love being busy. I always have to have something to do. Even if it just my mind racing along, planning things. So it got me thinking about projects.
After some snooping on Ravelry I have come up with a plan.

I found this adorable sock pattern:

Bienchensocken

I've only made 1 pair of socks before. My Stepmother has a sock obsession and I've never knit her anything. So I searched through my stash and found:

I think I'm going to make her a pair of these. :) with a jar of local honey.
What are you making for 4KCBWDAY2?

Choosing a house #KCBW4

It's 4KCBWDAY1 - Today's task involves the selection of a house (similar to Harry Potter) in which I feel comfortable associating with for the next week.
What is my knitting/crocheting style and how do I fit in? (read more on the different houses here)

This was rather a hard choice - since my style overlaps with several of the animals. I've been working steadily on my projects once I have selected them like a Manatee, and I'm also known for making changes to every single pattern that I've knit or crochet to my own liking like the Monkeys. I'm even now attempting to enhance a project by adding beads like the Peacock.

But in the end, I think my style fits the house of the Bees best. I work through many projects at the same time, keeping a multitude of different styles going and always keeping busy.

What got me started ...

Last year a couple of my knitting friends participated in the knitting & crochet blog week. This got me thinking yet again that I should start a blog of my own.  As you can see I've started and am still getting my feet wet in the blog world out there.
Well, now it's time again for the annual KCBW for the 4th year and I will try to participate.

For more information, head over to Eskimimimakes' blog  I hope you all enjoy my coming week of blogging. :)
